Overview
Vaill Point Park, a picturesque 23-acre park located along Moultrie Creek and the Intracoastal Waterway is just south of St. Augustine. This park, managed by St. Johns County offers a range of recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and birdwatching. It also features three playgrounds and a rock-climbing wall for the kids.
A popular spot for birdwatchers, visitors may spot Sandpiper, Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, Snowy Egrets and more than 20 species wood-warblers have been recorded at the park, including Cape May, Black-throated Blue and Blackburnian! St. Johns Audubon Society frequently offers bird identification courses at this park.
Vaill Point Park features 1.5-mile paved trail for biking or hiking with educational signs along the trail about the natural environment. There is a fishing pier, canoe and kayak launch sites, as well as covered picnic pavilions, grills, and clean restrooms. This park is ADA compliant.
