Whether you want to end your day with a nightcap, relax on a stroll under the stars or get spooked on a ghost tour, there’s plenty for you do after dark in St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida. Here’s just a sampling:
Listen to the sound of the waves rolling onto shore in St. Augustine Beach at local favorites like Beachcomber, or Salt Life Seafood Shack. Then take a moonlight stroll on the sand.
In downtown St. Augustine, find eclectic bistros, sidewalk cafes, and upscale wine and tapas bars where you can dine after dark while enjoying a hand-crafted cocktail or beer from a local brewery.
See the Oldest City in the glow of the setting sun from the rooftop vantage point at San Sebastian Winery. Enjoy wine, sangria, or a beer and live music with friends old and new.
Combine history with a little mystery, and a few frights along the way, with one of St. Augustine’s many ghost tours.
Live music flows nightly from every tavern, bistro, bar, and restaurant in St. Augustine’s historic district. Groove to the sounds of smooth jazz, Spanish guitar, classic rock, folk, and pop performed by talented local musicians.
See your favorite performer in concert or discover a new favorite band at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre or Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Or come listen to one of the up and coming young performers at The Colonial Oak Music Park, which offers free concerts most Thursdays through Sundays. The Original Cafe Eleven boasts a vibrant and eclectic music scene, with an array of genres.
The night scene heats up May through September when you can enjoy free evening concerts all summer long at the St. Johns County Ocean Pier Park and the plaza in historic downtown St. Augustine. Concerts in the Plaza is set for Thursday nights June through August, and Music by the Sea takes place Wednesdays, May through September at the St. Johns County Ocean Pier Park. The best part: Both are free!
Start every month off right on the first Friday at St. Augustine’s famous Art Walk. Visit more than 26 galleries during an evening stroll, and in addition to indulging your eyes, indulge your ears with live entertainment and your taste buds with complimentary refreshments.
During the holiday season, Nights of Lights makes St. Augustine sparkle with more than 3 million white lights on holiday light displays throughout the Historic District. Don’t miss it! This light show is like no other and continues from the weekend before Thanksgiving through January. Special events and nighttime tours happen regularly.
Ponte Vedra Beach’s fine-dining scene rules the night. Top chefs serve up inventive cuisine at Vernon’s in the Sawgrass Marriott. The dignified grandeur of the Seafoam Dining Room at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is complemented by a sophisticated menu featuring the restaurant’s popular Dover sole. And renowned steakhouse Ruth’s Chris in Ponte Vedra Beach always delivers on flavor.
