Improvement Updates
Construction on a drainage improvement project at the intersection of State Road 5A (King Street) and State Road A1A (Avenida Menendez) in downtown St. Augustine is underway. The estimated cost of the project expected to be complete by the end of 2023, is $4.2 million.
The drainage improvement project in downtown St. Augustine includes replacing and adding up to a 60” diameter drainpipe. The project also include constructing a concrete masonry wall system, new timber pergola, metal and concrete stanchions with guard railing, curb and gutter, sidewalks/bicycle path, lighting, asphalt resurfacing, and other incidental construction.
Drivers can expect detours in the immediate area on weekdays as the project enters its final phases near the end of the year 2023.
